In the Face of Hopelessness — Success Against All Odds. Definitely One of the Great and Relentless Few to Add to the Ranks!
Alex Idrache, from the slums of Haiti to West Point and has now graduated. According to Every Warrior, we have a brand new spirit and hope for our future here in America and around the world. This comes after riots and much mayhem in America during the Trump Administration, although not nearly the first time riots and anarchy has broken out in America as history can surely account.
At the onset of all the hatred and dismay and anger toward immigrants that was fueled by certain leadership that seemed to condone it-a true-to-life American success story. Just the kind of hope we need given current times, after events, most of which we are trying to forget. and now alas, we can all believe in hope as we commence the process of healing our great country — of the country, the United States of America.
This story written by a reporter who ran across the photo originally posted by Daniel Larsen (from Vancouver, WA) of Veterans Group NW (originally posted by John Bishop). The compelling and moving photo as posted below as it turns out is the graduation photo of a West Point cadet from the year 2016 and is none other than — Alex Idrache.
When shown to the new host of the Great and Relentless Few Show, she immediately understood having come from the deep slums of Chicago herself. “This young man is the perfect example of why we should never allow our past to define us now!” said Olivia Friedman. We learned that he apparently was raised in the poor slums of Haiti but what he witnessed while living there was life-altering. Read on to learn why…

According to a post we located on LinkedIn Every Warrior, “He grew up in a slum in Haiti, and he tells the story of how U.S. soldiers were deployed to his neighborhood following the earthquake there several years ago. He says their presence was the first experience of “hope” he recalls in his childhood. He remembers looking at his dad and asking him who the people were that were helping. His dad looked at him and said, “They are American soldiers.”
Apparently this young man saw a glimpse of hope for his future which otherwise looked bleak. However, with having also become a pilot now, we travel back in time for a quote from the then little Alex after looking back directly at his dad telling him that since those that had helped them were American soldiers; “One day, I will be an American soldier.”
His father clearly unable to see that light at the end of the tunnel for his son still did not try to discourage him — he instead allowed him to dream on, despite all the denials to come to America after having applied several times over the years. Then, when finally allowed to come to Baltimore, his son Alex immediately began looking for a way to join — the U.S. Army. That is, until he finally located and applied for a national guard program that gave him a way in. The only stipulation was that he be willing to receive the opportunity — in exchange for his citizenship. Young Alex jumped into the ranks and never looked back. Of course with Murphy’s Law setting in, several unfortunate events set him back — yet he persevered and never gave up! From Port-au-Prince, Haiti alas — an American Military Success story.
During these times, this is just what the doctor ordered!
